12 Skulls of the Dead

12 Skulls of the Dead is a festive slot set during the Día de los Muertos, with candlelight and music creating the mood. You collect glowing skulls to climb a tower, and it was released on September 24, 2025.

What kind of game is 12 Skulls of the Dead?

Themed around the Day of the Dead festival, this slot has you collecting skull symbols while candles flicker and the music builds. The basic flow is to climb the Epic Strike Tower with the skulls you collect and go after cash prizes. If you like collection and stage progression among Microgaming slots, it’s worth a look.

How does the Epic Strike Tower work?

The more glowing skull symbols you collect, the higher you climb the Epic Strike Tower, and you can go after the cash prizes placed on it. The prize value for each stage and how many skulls you need are not detailed in the official description. It’s a good idea to check the tower stages in the in-game info screen before you play. Just remembering that skull collection is the center of this game’s progression makes the flow much clearer.

What does the Ancient Wild Coin do?

The Ancient Wild Coin is introduced as a wild that carries the power of the ancestors. According to the official description, this coin increases your chance of triggering the Skull Serenade Bonus. How many coins are needed and under what conditions the bonus opens have not been disclosed separately, so check the in-game rules as well. When the wild coin shows up is the most noteworthy thing to watch in the base game.

What is the Skull Serenade Bonus?

The Skull Serenade Bonus is the game’s signature bonus round, described in the official text as fortune flowing in from the other side. Since the Ancient Wild Coin raises the chance of triggering it, you’ll want to watch for coin appearances in the base game. Check the in-game info screen for the detailed rules inside the bonus. The festive presentation, with candles and rising music, also adds to the mood of this bonus.

What should I look at first?

RTP is 96.00% and volatility is rated high. Wins can come with long gaps, so it’s hard to judge from the base game alone. It helps to first work out how skull collection feeds into the tower stages and how the wild coin connects to the bonus, as that makes the flow on screen easier to follow. Enjoy the Day of the Dead theme while you track your collection progress.
