Review Methodology
Last updated: 2026-10-19
This document explains where AI Slot gets its game information, how we verify it, and what criteria we use for ratings. Every number and assessment on the site follows these criteria. If the criteria change, we update this document first and refresh the revision date.
1. Basic principles
- Official sources first: We look first at materials the provider has published itself.
- Hands-on checks: We describe features and bonus structures only after running the demo ourselves.
- No guessing: We do not include unverified figures; we leave them as “-” or “Not disclosed.”
- Source credits: Magazine articles list their sources at the bottom.
- Correction log: When a figure changes or we fix an error, we record the date of the correction.
2. Data sources
We use sources in the order of reliability below. If a value can be confirmed from a source above, we do not use values from a source below.
| Rank | Sources | Information we check |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Provider’s official game page | RTP, volatility, max win, release date, feature descriptions |
| 2 | Provider media pack, game sheet (PDF), product brochure | RTP versions, hit frequency, bonus entry probability, bet range, bonus buy price |
| 3 | Provider’s official press releases and news | Release date, new features, market launch information |
| 4 | In-game info screen (paytable, rules) | Paylines, symbol payouts, feature rules |
| 5 | Industry media game information | Supplementary information not in official sources (used only when two or more sources agree) |
Values from industry media or database sites are used only for reference when the official sources lack the item, and only when the same value is confirmed by two or more different sources. If sources disagree, we leave the value out.
3. Testing labs and certification
Slots from licensed providers are tested by independent testing labs before release. The labs check that the random number generator (RNG) works fairly and that the RTP stated by the provider matches the actual math model. Major labs include the following.
- GLI (Gaming Laboratories International)
- BMM Testlabs
- iTech Labs
- eCOGRA
AI Slot is not a testing lab and does not independently verify the math model of any game. The RTP shown on the site is the official value published by the provider and certified by a testing lab. You can read about each lab in the Slot Wiki.
4. How we verify each item
RTP (return to player)
RTP is the share of total wagers that a game theoretically returns over a long period. Many providers supply the same game in several RTP versions, and the casino operator picks one of them. For example, the same game may exist in 96.5%, 95.5%, and 94.5% versions.
- AI Slot shows the highest official RTP among the versions the provider has published as the representative value.
- If other versions exist, we list them together in the body of the game page.
- The most accurate way to find the RTP where you actually play is to check the in-game info screen.
Max win
Max win is the maximum amount you can win in a single spin (or a single bonus) expressed as a multiple of your bet.
- If the provider publishes a multiplier (for example, 5,000x), we use it as is.
- If the provider publishes only an amount (for example, €500,000 at max bet), we convert it to a multiplier only when the max bet amount can also be confirmed.
- For games with a separate jackpot, we list the multiplier excluding the jackpot and state in the text that a jackpot exists.
- If it cannot be verified, we leave it as “-“.
Volatility
Volatility describes how often and how large wins tend to be. Each provider labels it differently.
- If the provider publishes a tiered rating (low, medium, high) or a 5-point scale, we use that value as is.
- For providers like Red Tiger that publish a numeric index, we show the index as is.
- If there is no official label, we do not assign one arbitrarily based only on how the demo plays.
Hit frequency
Hit frequency shows how often, in terms of spins, a win occurs. We use only values published in the game sheet or media pack. Wins here include those smaller than the bet amount.
Bet range and bonus buy
The bet range uses the minimum and maximum bets from the provider’s official materials. The actual range may vary by casino or currency. Bonus buy indicates whether the game itself has the feature, and in some countries it may be blocked by regulation.
Release date
We use the release date from the provider’s official page or press release. If the two dates differ, we give priority to the date on the official game page and note the difference in the text.
5. Checking the demo ourselves
When we add a new game, the editorial team runs the provider’s official demo ourselves. Here is what we check in the demo.
- The base game’s reel structure and winning method (paylines, ways, clusters, etc.)
- How wilds, scatters, and special symbols behave
- Bonus entry conditions and features within the bonus
- Bonus buy options and price tiers (where supported in the demo)
- Display and controls on mobile screens
The demo is a version that uses no real money, so you cannot judge the true odds from a short session. That is why we use the demo only to understand features and structure, and we follow official sources for figures.
6. AI Slot rating criteria (out of 10)
The rating on a game page is given by the editorial team based on the five items below. The rating is the editorial team’s opinion of the game’s fun and polish, and it does not indicate your chances of winning.
| Item | Share | What we check |
|---|---|---|
| Feature set | 30% | How varied and well designed the bonus and special features are |
| Figure transparency | 20% | Whether RTP, max win, volatility, and similar figures are officially disclosed in enough detail |
| Design and presentation | 20% | Quality of graphics, sound, and animation |
| Ease of play | 15% | Mobile support, screen layout, and ease of understanding the rules |
| Originality | 15% | Whether it offers new elements that differ from existing games |
Providers and casinos cannot influence ratings, and we do not receive any financial benefit in exchange for changing a rating.
7. Update and correction policy
- If the provider changes a figure or publishes a new RTP version, we update the game page.
- When an error report comes in, we recheck it against official sources before correcting it. We do not change a value before the check is complete.
- If the same figure appears on several pages (game page, provider hub, rankings, magazine), we correct all of them together.
- Magazine articles keep their original publication date, and if the content changes, we note the revision.
8. How to report an error
If you find incorrect information on the site, please let us know at teamaislot@gmail.com. Including the details below will help us check it faster.
- The page URL
- The incorrect item and the correct value
- Supporting materials (provider’s official page URL, game sheet, etc.)
We usually review reports within 3 business days, and if a correction is needed, we reply after applying it.
9. What we do not do
- We do not offer ways to raise your chances of winning or any guaranteed winning strategy.
- We do not change reviews or rankings at the request of a provider or casino.
- We do not guess or fill in unverified figures.
- We do not copy reviews from other sites.
- We do not encourage betting real money.
