Lights
Lights Free Slot Demo review
Lights is a calm, dreamy slot where fireflies drift over an Asian landscape at dusk. It was released on May 22, 2014, and you can play it right away in the free demo with no sign-up.
What kind of mood does Lights have?
The official description presents this game as having a calm, Zen-like flow. Fireflies drift over a 5-reel, 3-row layout with 9 lines, set against an Asian landscape at twilight. It is a good NetEnt slot to pick when you want gentle immersion rather than flash. The dusk scenery and soft music blend together, so it is comfortable to leave running for a long time.
How do floating wilds appear?
On every spin, a swarm of fireflies gathers over the reels and randomly creates floating wilds on top of existing symbols. In the base game, 2-4 appear at a time. They trigger on every spin with no special condition, so there is almost no waiting for wilds. Since you see the result with the wilds already in place, you look forward to which line they will land on each spin.
Do more fireflies appear in the free spins?
Yes. In the free spins, the sun fully sets and night falls, and more fireflies fly in. Each spin creates 3-6 floating wilds, which gives you better chances to win than in the base game. Scatters trigger the free spins in both the base game and the free spins, and they also pay according to the paytable. The night falling together with the growing number of wilds is the highlight of this game.
Aren’t 9 paylines too few?
There are few paylines, but at least 2 wilds land on every spin, so wins feel fairly frequent. The actual hit frequency is also 29%. Because the paylines are simple, it is easy to see at a glance which line a wild landed on. With only 9 lines, the wild positions are immediately visible, so it is easy to follow which line a win landed on.
What should I check first in the demo?
is 96.10% and volatility is medium-high. The max win is 600x and the bet range is €0.09 – €90. In the demo, compare how much the number of floating wilds in the base game versus the free spins affects the results. Bonus buy is not available, so free spins only open when scatters land on a regular spin, and the scatters also pay on their own.

- Floating wilds on every spin
- Free spins where wilds grow to 3-6
