Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year is an Eastern festival slot where a tiger, a dragon, and a monkey welcome the new year with firecrackers and the sound of gongs. It was released on April 28, 2014, and you can try it right away in the free demo with no sign-up.

What are the main symbols in Chinese New Year?

The tiger is the wild, the dragon is the bonus scatter, and the monkey is the free spins scatter. The tiger wild substitutes for every symbol except the monkey and the dragon to create wins. Among the Play’n GO slots themed around New Year festivities, this one stands out for its fireworks presentation. The festive New Year mood fills the screen, which is welcome if you like holiday themes.

How does the Dragon Fireworks bonus work?

Land dragon symbols on reels 3, 4, and 5 to start the Dragon Fireworks bonus. Every time a firework is launched, each one that bursts successfully gives you coins. But if a firework explodes on the ground, the bonus ends right there, so it is nerve-racking every time. Watching whether each firework will soar into the sky or blow up on the ground is the heart of the fun in this bonus.

How do the Monkey Free Spins start?

When monkey symbols land on reels 1, 3, and 5, you receive 5x your total bet and free spins begin. The monkey lights a wheel of fire, and when it spins and stops, it picks one reel symbol as the extra scatter. Then the monkey strikes a gong to reveal the number of free spins. The monkeys must land on reels 1, 3, and 5, so a monkey on reel 1 is the first sign.

How is the extra scatter awarded?

During free spins, the selected extra scatter is active and pays according to the paytable of the original symbol. However, no additional free spins are awarded during free spins, and the dragon bonus does not trigger. The gamble round is a separate option you can choose to try. In the end, which symbol the wheel of fire picks shapes the result of the whole free spins round.

What should I check first in the demo?

RTP is 94.15% and the max win is 5,625x your total bet. Bonus buy is not available. There is no official volatility figure, so use the demo to get a feel for how many free spins the monkey’s gong typically awards and which symbols give good results when picked as the extra scatter. Enjoy the new year festival atmosphere and spin casually.
