Wild Melon

Wild Melon is a 3-reel fruit slot where a single melon serves as both wild and scatter. Its special feature is that even melons that land outside the payline come to life. It was released on November 29, 2012, and you can spin the free demo right away with no sign-up.

What kind of game is Wild Melon?

It’s a very simple fruit slot with 3 reels and 1 payline. Press SPIN, and once the reels stop, the symbols on screen determine the result according to the paytable. Only the single highest win is paid per spin. If you like the fruit machine feel, it’s a nice casual pick among Play’n GO slots. The familiarity of the fruit symbols is part of the charm.

Is the melon a wild or a scatter?

Both. The melon symbol is a scatter and a wild at the same time, substituting for all other reel symbols to form winning combinations on the payline. Because one symbol takes on both roles, seeing a melon on screen is always a welcome sight. The more melons that appear on one screen, the more the wild effect and scatter nature overlap, making it more fun to check the result.

Melons outside the payline count too?

Yes. According to the official description, the melon works as a wild wherever it appears on the reels. Even when a melon lands in the row above or below the payline, it still substitutes, and melon symbols together count as winning combinations in the rows above and below the payline, too. It is a device that makes you watch the whole screen even though it is a single-line game. Be sure to check where the melon stops.

Are there free spins or a bonus?

The official description provided doesn’t mention free spins or a separate bonus game. The melon wild, which also counts outside the payline, is effectively the only special feature. Results come instantly and the rules are clear, so it’s a good game for a quick break. If you enjoy the plain simplicity of a single-line classic, this can actually feel like a plus.

What should I check first in the demo?

The RTP is 93.72% and the max win is 3,333x the total bet. Bonus buy is not available. There is no official volatility figure, so check in the demo how melons landing above and below the payline lead to wins, and how often several melons show up. Enjoy the refreshing summer fruit feel of the melon symbol as well.
