Secret City Gold

Secret City Gold is a 5×4 reel, 25-payline slot set in an Aztec kingdom. On top of the basic structure of matching frog, lion, monkey, and snake symbols, the randomly appearing wild pattern is the core. Even among Pragmatic Play slots, this pattern feature is quite unique.

What to check first in the demo

First, get familiar with how the wild pattern forms. After a regular win is paid out, a specific shape appears on the screen, and every symbol inside it turns into one random symbol. The moment this conversion fills several lines at once is the highlight of the game.

Feature highlights

Base game wins come often, on average once every 3 spins. The pattern feature triggers randomly in both the base game and the bonus. In the bonus, each time a pattern forms you get 1 extra free spin, and the multiplier goes up by 1x with every win.

Built for high volatility

Volatility is high, so there can be long gaps between small wins. Free spins come about once every 189 spins on average, so you need a bet size you can sustain through that stretch. Running about 200-300 spins in the free demo will give you a feel for it.

Bonus buy verdict

The bonus buy costs 85x the bet, a bit cheaper than other games. However, wins of 1,000x or more are rare at about 1 in 148,000, so it’s hard to expect a big result from a few purchases. There is no ante bet.

Summary

When the pattern conversion and the cumulative multiplier work together, it opens up to a max of 10,000x. The game really shows its worth when you hit a bonus where the pattern triggers many times.
