Book of Golden Sands

Book of Golden Sands is an Egyptian-themed game that puts a twist on the usual book slot formula. Its signature feature is expanding symbols stacking on top of the reels in free spins, so the fastest way to see the difference is the free slot demo.

Base game

It calculates wins in up to 729 ways on 6×3 reels. Instead of paylines, you just need the same symbol on adjacent reels from the left, so the paths to a win are wider than in a typical book game. Egyptian relic and gem symbols appear, and among the wilds there are also multiplier wilds that come with a multiplier attached.

The two roles of the book symbol

The book symbol is both a wild and a scatter. In the base game it substitutes for other symbols to continue wins, and 3 or more open the free spins. So even one or two books showing up makes you watch that spin a little longer.

Free Spins

When free spins start, one random symbol is chosen as the special symbol. When this symbol expands across the whole reel, one more of the same symbol is added to the top of that reel, and each time it expands again on the same reel, that extra symbol adds to the number of ways to win. The board grows as expansions repeat, and the max 10,000x also comes from this stage.

Bonus Buy

Free spins trigger about once every 204 spins on average. If you don’t want to wait, you can buy the bonus right away for 100x your bet. However, results vary widely depending on which symbol is picked as the special symbol, so it’s a good idea to buy it several times in the demo and get a feel for the variance first.

Who it's for

It suits anyone who liked Book of games but found the same structure tiresome. With medium volatility, it isn’t too rough, yet the free spins have the fun of the board growing bigger. If you’re looking for an Egyptian theme among Pragmatic Play slots, it’s worth a look.
