Songkran Splash

Songkran Splash is a slot themed on Songkran, the Thai New Year festival held around April 13 each year, a water festival where people splash water in the streets. It was released on April 6, 2023, and the free demo lets you enjoy the festival mood right away with no sign-up.

How is the Songkran festival reflected in the slot?

Songkran comes from a Sanskrit word meaning change, and the water festival grew out of the tradition of pouring water over Buddha statues to wash away old bad luck. This game moves the festival’s streams of water and parade atmosphere onto a diamond-shaped 5-reel layout arranged 3-4-5-4-3. It’s a fitting choice for a PG Soft slot, since the provider often draws on Asian culture. The bright mood of the traditional parade that picks Miss Songkran is captured as well.

How do the reel multipliers turn on?

When a winning symbol lands on reel 2, 3, or 4, that reel’s multiplier activates. If it’s already active, that reel’s multiplier value goes up. Since the three middle reels each have their own multiplier and grow separately, a win while all three have built up high multipliers can bring a big result. Reels 1 and 5 have no multiplier, so you can focus on the movement of the three middle reels.

How does cascading relate to reel multipliers?

Thanks to cascading, where winning symbols disappear and new symbols fall in, wins on reels 2, 3, and 4 can repeat many times within a single spin. Each time, the reel multipliers turn on or go up, so the longer the chain, the bigger the multipliers get. The chain pouring on like water fits the theme well. Watching a multiplier that’s already on keep growing mid-chain is this game’s biggest highlight.

Can I see the big moments right away with a bonus buy?

No, this game does not have a bonus buy. Instead, the way reel multipliers build up in the base game is the core of it, and there’s fun in watching the multipliers grow as you keep spinning. It helps to spin the demo several times to get used to the flow. Just following the multiplier displays on the three middle reels gives you a sense of how favorable the situation is. Enjoy it casually, like watching a festival parade.

What should I check first in the demo?

RTP is 96.69%, volatility is high, and the max win is 5,000x. Hit frequency is 32.91% and bets range from €0.2 to €100. In the demo, first check how often the multipliers on reels 2, 3, and 4 turn on at the same time, and how high a single reel’s multiplier climbs. With high volatility, you’ll also often see chains break just when the multipliers have built up.
