Folsom Prison max win replay
First spin: a grid like a cramped cell
The opening screen is a narrow grid of 2-cell reels, with only 16 ways to win. As locked cells open, the grid can grow up to 4-6-6-6-4. It was released in June 2022, with an of 96.07%, high volatility, and a hit frequency of 22.62%. The prison mood is rough, but the presentation is mixed with black humor.
Features that open cells in the base game
Wilds land everywhere except reel 1 and substitute for paying symbols. The Roach Nest appears in the open cells of the middle three reels, and roaches crawl around opening locked cells. xSplit lands only on the two middle rows of reels 2-5, splitting the symbols it touches to double the ways to win, while xWays turns into a regular symbol and adds ways. When 2 scatters land, two middle rows of reel 5 open up, and the scatter turns into one of xWays, xSplit, Wild, or Roach Nest.
Bonus trigger
3 scatters start Walk The Line spins and 4 scatters start The Chair spins, with a minimum of 8 spins. If there are scatters split by xSplit at the trigger, each one adds +1 spin. Free spins come about once every 195 spins, which is more often than in other games. Turning on Toast Bet (xBet) guarantees a reel 2 scatter for a 20% extra cost.
Grows within the bonus
In the bonus, the grid stays open as it continues, so spins run on a wider grid than in the base game. In Walk The Line, scatters land only on reel 5, and The Chair is designed as the heavier tier. When split symbols and expanded ways overlap, a big win can land all at once. Compare the grid size difference between the two modes yourself in the demo.
Max win and realistic expectations
The 75,000x max win has odds of about 1 in 6.5 million, and a 100x or higher win comes about once every 860 spins. Even among Nolimit City slots, its volatility index is on the high side, so expect big swings in your balance. Bonus buy is available and the bet range is 0.2 to 100. Since it starts on a narrow grid, it’s best not to judge it by just the first few spins.
Pros
- A grid that expands from 16 ways to 4-6-6-6-4
- Fairly frequent free spins, about once every 195 spins
- A high ceiling of max 75,000x
Cons
- A low hit frequency of 22.62%
- A base game that can feel flat because of the narrow starting grid
