Journey To The Wealth

Journey To The Wealth is a slot based on the Journey to the West story, in which the monk Tripitaka, Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, and Sha Wujing head west to retrieve scriptures. It was released on February 13, 2019, and with the free demo you can join the journey right away with no sign-up.

What kind of game is Journey To The Wealth?

It’s a payline slot with 5 reels, 3 rows, and 30 paylines. It keeps the Journey to the West setup intact: Sun Wukong with his staff, Zhu Bajie who transforms in 36 ways, and Sha Wujing with his magic treasures, all protecting the monk Tripitaka through 81 trials. If you like the character presentation typical of PG Soft slots, this one will be a welcome find. The personality of each of the four characters shines through in every symbol.

What does it mean that a character turns into a wild in the respin?

When the respin feature triggers, one of the character symbols is selected. The selected character symbol transforms into a wild symbol for the duration of the respin, substituting for other symbols to complete winning combinations. The screen looks different depending on which character is picked, so it stays fresh every time. When a high-paying character turns wild, every position it occupied becomes wild, so winning lines can multiply all at once.

How do free spins continue?

If 3 scatters appear during free spins, you get 8 free spins. Free spins include a wild-collecting element, so the more wilds pile up, the better your chances of winning. The wild transformation is the key to both the respin and the free spins. If you get used to the wild transformation in the respin first, the free spins section becomes easier to follow as well.

Is the minimum bet higher than in other games?

The bet range is €0.9 – €270, so the minimum bet is a bit on the high side. The hit frequency is 30.76% and volatility is medium, so the flow itself is smooth enough. It’s a good idea to get a feel for it in the demo first. Since the minimum bet is high, make sure to check in the demo at what intervals the respin and free spins come up before playing for real. Watching the Journey to the West characters in action is fun, too.

What should I check first in the demo?

The RTP is 96.39%, volatility is medium, and the max win is 1,268x. Bonus buy isn’t available, so in the demo it’s worth checking how often the respin triggers and which character gets picked as the wild when wins are biggest. Use the demo to judge first whether it suits your play style. See how much the respin changes the outcome.
