Fire Toad

Fire Toad is a 5-reel, 1,024-ways animal fantasy slot that blends toad symbols of different sizes, Hawaiian-style card suits and firefly scatters. It was released on April 8, 2021, and you can try it right away with the free demo.

How are the symbols in Fire Toad structured?

It consists of 5 toad symbols of different sizes and 4 Hawaii-themed card suit symbols. The biggest toad is the highest-paying symbol and the smallest tadpole pays the least. Symbol size matches payout order, so you can tell what’s valuable at a glance, which makes this one of the more intuitive Play’n GO slots.

What role does the firefly symbol play?

The firefly is both a scatter and a wild, substituting for all symbols. When exactly 2 scatters land, one toad symbol is picked at random, and all smaller toads are upgraded to the chosen toad. Payouts are calculated after the upgrade, but a win isn’t guaranteed. The appeal is that there’s a chance for the board to change even outside free spins.

How many free spins do I get?

3, 4, or 5 scatters award 9, 12, or 15 free spins. Free spins start with the smallest toad already upgraded one level. You begin with one fewer low-paying symbol from the start, so the board is noticeably better than in the base game. The more scatters you collect, the more spins you get, so there’s some fun in going for 5.

What happens to the toads when I retrigger?

Free spins can be retriggered with no limit, and 3, 4, or 5 scatters add 3, 4, or 5 free spins. Each retrigger upgrades the smallest remaining toad by one level, continuing until every toad reaches the largest size. The more retriggers you get, the more the screen fills with high-paying toads.

What should I check first in the demo?

RTP is 94.2% and the max win is 5,000x your bet. There’s no official volatility figure, so get a feel for it yourself in the demo. It’s worth checking how often an upgrade triggered by 2 scatters actually turns into a win, and how many levels the toads grow through free spins retriggers. Be sure to watch how the screen changes as retriggers keep coming.
