House of Doom

House of Doom is a horror slot featuring an eerie mansion on a hill and the prophet who guards its secrets. It was released on March 12, 2018, and with the free demo you can be among the first to knock on that mansion’s door, with no sign-up.

What’s the story of House of Doom?

A quiet mansion on a hill is tangled up in rumors and legends of the occult, ghosts, and witches, yet nobody has ever actually gone inside. The house is said to be guarded by a mysterious prophet who protects its secrets with magic. You get to be the first to knock on its door. This is a dark horror title among Play’n GO slots that leans heavily into its gloomy atmosphere. The eerie touches all around the mansion add to the immersion.

What are the wild, scatter, and bonus symbols?

The prophet appears as the wild and watches over the player throughout the game. The mansion picture acts as the scatter in both the base game and the free spins, and the ghastly skull is the bonus symbol. The wild substitutes for every symbol except the scatter, and 2 or more adjacent wilds standing side by side on an active line also count as a win on their own. Keeping the roles of the three symbols straight makes the screen easy to read. It’s nice that wilds can win together, too.

How does the Hell Gate feature work?

On every spin, one reel is randomly selected and highlighted. If a wild lands on that selected reel, it expands to fill the entire reel and covers all other symbols. That’s why it pays to check which reel is glowing when the spin starts. In a 10-payline layout, a single wild reel keeps several lines alive at once. It’s a feature that gives you a small bit of anticipation on every spin.

How do I open the Doom Spins?

The mansion symbol, which is the free spins scatter, appears only on reels 1, 3, and 5. When 3 mansions land in the base game, the Doom Spins begin. You only need to watch three odd-numbered reels, so the trigger condition is clear at a glance. When mansions show on reels 1 and 3, the wait for reel 5 builds tension. Go into the demo and check the details of how it plays out yourself.

What should I check first in the demo?

RTP is 94.1% and the max win is 2,500x your bet. Bonus buy is not available, so you have to trigger the Doom Spins yourself with 3 mansion scatters. There is no official volatility figure, so use the demo to get a feel for how often wilds drop on the Hell Gate reel and how far apart Doom Spins entries are. Also watch how often wild-only wins show up. It’s worth remembering that the RTP is on the low side.
