Merlin and the Ice Queen Morgana

Merlin and the Ice Queen Morgana is a slot where Merlin sets out to find his apprentice Morgana, who left Camelot after King Arthur’s coronation, and meets her in a frozen wasteland where she has become an ice queen. It was released on November 25, 2021, and you can try it right away with the free demo.

What is the relationship between Merlin and Morgana?

Morgana is King Arthur’s sister and Merlin’s former apprentice. Merlin goes looking for her after she leaves Camelot following her brother’s coronation, arrives in a land ruled by an ice queen, and learns that the queen is Morgana herself. With a friend turning into an enemy, the mood is heavier than in most of the Arthurian series from Play’n GO slots. If you like a serious story, this may appeal to you.

When is the special expanding symbol chosen?

Before free spins begin, one symbol is randomly chosen and becomes the special expanding symbol for that entire session. Expansion only happens when enough symbols are visible for a win, and the symbols do not need to be adjacent to each other. The key point is that they expand as long as the count is met, even if spread apart. So identical symbols scattered across the reels can still lead to an expansion that covers the screen.

What kind of symbol is Merlin’s staff?

Merlin’s staff is a scatter wild. Like a spell cast across the whole reels, it acts as both scatter and wild at once, so a single symbol handles triggering free spins and helping with wins. The game also includes an expanding wild multiplier, so wild-related moments often decide the outcome. Because it combines scatter and wild, even one on screen matters. It covers both the path to free spins and win support at the same time.

How does Morgana’s special wild activate the multiplier?

Morgana is a special wild that can land on a reel as 1 position, 2 positions, or a full stack. The multiplier only activates when she lands as a full stack completely covering the reel. Results differ greatly between a half-covered Morgana and a full one, so you’ll find yourself watching how many positions she fills. The sight of the ice queen filling an entire reel is one of the most anticipated moments in this game.

What should I check first in the demo?

RTP is 94.2% and the max win is 20,000x your bet. There is no official volatility figure, so get a feel for it in the demo. Compare how often Morgana lands as a full stack, and how well the screen fills when a symbol is chosen as the special expanding symbol in free spins. Also watch how often Merlin’s staff lands as a scatter wild.
