Year of the Dragon King

Year of the Dragon King is a 5×3 reel game set on a mountain peak inhabited by mystical animals, capturing the atmosphere of Lunar New Year. Lantern and gold coin symbols roll by, and there is a distinctive bonus trigger where the reel background color changes.

Base game

Match the same symbols across 20 lines, and wilds substitute for all base symbols. Base wins land about once every 5 spins on average, and volatility is on the low side. The bet range is 0.1 to 250.

Background color matching

The background color behind the reels changes randomly each spin. When the background colors of all reels match exactly, the bonus opens. It differs from the usual scatter-counting approach, so it feels unfamiliar at first, but there is real tension as the colors line up one by one.

Free spins and mini slots

There are three types of bonuses, and when you enter one, a random number of mini slot machines appear above the reels. If symbols land on every reel of a mini slot, it wins, and if even one is empty, that slot ends. The multiplier that rises on consecutive wins differs in each bonus. It triggers about once every 118 spins on average.

Bonus buy & ante

Bonus buy comes in four prices: 60x, 100x, 140x, and 350x. Ante bet is 1.5x. With so many choices, the free slot demo is a good place to buy at each price and compare the bonuses.

Who it's for

A good fit if you want a festive Asian-style theme and an unusual way of triggering the bonus. With low volatility, even newcomers to Pragmatic Play slots can try it without pressure.
