Oranje Jackpot Oranje Jackpot

Overview

Oranje Jackpot is a progressive jackpot network that Pragmatic Play launched on August 29, 2024, exclusively for the Dutch market. “Oranje” means orange in Dutch, the color that symbolizes the Dutch royal family and national team. Pragmatic Play introduced it as “the first dedicated jackpot series made only for the Netherlands.”

Oranje Jackpot games run only at legal online casinos licensed by the Dutch authorities (KSA). So they may not be visible to players from other countries, or even if visible, you can’t actually take part in the jackpot. AI Slot provides only free demos and information for reference, and they are listed separately from the Pragmatic Play game list.

Jackpot structure

The Giga jackpot topped 1 million euros in January 2025, just a few months after launch, and drew attention. Because bets from multiple casinos and multiple games feed into a single jackpot, the amount builds up quickly.

How the jackpot game works

• While you play an eligible game, the jackpot bonus can start at random. It isn’t triggered by collecting specific symbols and can happen on any spin (random jackpot).
• When the bonus starts, 12 face-down cards appear in a 4-column, 3-row layout.
• Flip cards to match 3 of the same symbol first (J, Q, K, A) and win that tier’s jackpot.

When you enter the jackpot bonus, you always receive one of four tiers, so which tier you get comes down to luck. The chance of hitting the biggest Giga jackpot is very low.

Eligible games

It started with six games built around a Dutch theme.

• Oranje Joker 2, Sweet Bonanza Holland, Hout Ronce Netherlands Megaways
• Ik wil Kaas! (“I want cheese”), Fruit Feest, Kroonjuwelen (Crown Jewels)

Later, “Oranje Jackpot” versions were added in turn to popular games such as Sweet Bonanza, Gates of Olympus, Sugar Rush, Big Bass Bonanza and The Dog House. The AI Slot free slot DB lists 34 Oranje-related games.

Why Oranje versions have a lower RTP

According to the AI Slot DB, the RTP of Oranje versions is mostly around 92%, roughly 4 percentage points lower than the original games (usually around 96.5%). That’s because part of each bet goes toward building the jackpot, which lowers the return of the base game without the jackpot. The Dutch market’s RTP version policy also plays a role (RTP versions).

In other words, in regular play you get back less than with the original version, trading that difference for a chance at a jackpot win. It’s best to choose with the understanding that you’re aiming for a big jackpot at the cost of a lower base return (the difference between max win and jackpot).

Why are country-specific games made?

After the Netherlands legalized online casinos in October 2021, only licensed operators were allowed to run them. To compete in this newly opened regulated market, providers create dedicated games and jackpots that reflect the country’s culture and language. Oranje Jackpot is a prime example of this “country-tailored” strategy.
