Rich Wilde and the Tome of Insanity

Rich Wilde and the Tome of Insanity is a horror adventure slot in which Rich Wilde gets his hands on another Necronomicon and is hunted through a nameless fog by the servants of Yog-Sothoth. It was released on May 30, 2024 and you can play it as a free demo.

What is the story of the Tome of Insanity?

Rich Wilde, the explorer who has survived countless dangers, is pushed to his limits this time after discovering a powerful Necronomicon. The goal is to shake off the eerie servants of Yog-Sothoth and protect the evil book to prevent catastrophe. The Rich Wilde series from Play’n GO slots has transformed into a cosmic horror mood, which gives it a different kind of tension.

How does the All-Seeing Eye summon wilds?

On any spin, an Eye frame can appear at random on the map to the left of the grid. When a winning cluster on the grid lines up with the position of an Eye frame on the map, 2 to 4 wilds appear on the grid. This can lead to unexpected cascade combos. Switching your gaze between the map and the grid is fun, and it feels clearly different from other Rich Wilde games.

How does the Portal of Chaos charge?

Every win charges the Portal of Chaos by 1 for each winning symbol. Each time the charge reaches 8, 16, 30 and 48, the four stages open one after another, and each stage grants a different portal effect. The input description for the details of each effect was cut off, so check them in the demo. Higher stages hold stronger effects, so you will keep an eye on the charge gauge.

Can you buy the bonus in Rich Wilde and the Tome of Insanity?

Bonus buy is not available. To charge the portal up to 48, you need to keep building cascades in the base game. A single big cluster win raises the charge a lot, so the moment when wilds summoned by the All-Seeing Eye lead into a chain of cascades matters. As the charge builds, the mood on screen grows darker, which brings the horror presentation to life. Don’t miss the moment a big cascade hits.

What should I check first in the demo?

The RTP is 96.20% and the max win is 5,000x your bet. There is no official volatility figure, so use the demo to get a feel for how quickly the portal fills up to each stage. It is also worth counting how often the Eye frame actually summons wilds when it appears. Comparing the effects of each portal stage is quite fun too.
