Lord Merlin and The Lady of The Lake

Lord Merlin and The Lady of The Lake is a slot where, instead of the old wizard we all know, a young and fiery Merlin carries on a passionate relationship with Vivian, the Lady of the Lake, and sets off on a mysterious journey beyond the forest. It was released on January 28, 2021, and you can try it right away in the free demo.

How is this Merlin different from the earlier ones?

In this game, Merlin isn’t the old wizard we’re used to. He appears as a much younger, bolder figure. His many powers have brought him great fortune, but nothing compares to his bond with Vivian, the Lady of the Lake. You follow the two of them as they set off together across a vast forest, and among the Merlin series from Play’n GO slots, this one has the strongest romantic feel.

How do free spins open up with the Excalibur scatter?

Merlin’s Excalibur sword is the scatter symbol, set up as protecting the party throughout the journey. Collect 3 or more Excaliburs to enter free spins and get the first 8. Since the scatter is also a symbol from the story, each time a sword lands it feels like the journey advances one step. In the base game, how many swords you collect is the main thing to watch.

How is the expanding symbol in free spins chosen?

In the free spins, one royal symbol or high-paying symbol is randomly picked on every spin to become the special expanding symbol. Rather than sticking with one locked symbol, the star symbol changes from spin to spin. During the free spins, Merlin also enchants Excalibur and turns it into a wild scatter, which substitutes for all symbols like a wild.

What are Nested Free Spins?

If you collect 2 more Excaliburs during the free spins, you move on to the next stage of the journey: Nested Free Spins. Here the chosen expanding symbol becomes locked, so you keep aiming for expansions with the same symbol. Collect 2 more Excaliburs and the spins retrigger, which means another layer of bonus opens inside the free spins. It’s a stage where you push all the way with a locked symbol, so the anticipation runs high.

What should I check first in the demo?

RTP is 96.2%, on the high side for titles from the same period, and the max win is 10,000x your bet. There’s no official volatility figure, so get a feel for it in the demo. In free spins, it’s worth checking which symbol is picked as the expanding symbol each spin, and how often collecting 2 more Excaliburs moves you into stacked free spins.
