Overview

Play’n GO is a slot game developer headquartered in Växjö, in southern Sweden. The company says it was founded in 2005, and CEO Johan Törnqvist says it “started making mobile-only casino games before smartphones even existed.” That means it has designed games with mobile in mind from very early on.

It now supplies more than 400 games to over 35 regulated markets across Europe and North America. In Malta, Play’n GO Malta Ltd holds the MGA B2B license (MGA/B2B/225/2012). It is also known for carrying its own character universe, such as the Egyptian explorer Rich Wilde, across multiple games.

RTP Version Policy

Play’n GO certifies every game at five RTP levels by default: 96%, 94%, 91%, 87%, 84%, and some games also have a 98% version. The operator chooses which version to use, and most regulators require 94% or 96%. So the same game can have a very different RTP depending on where you play. You can check the actual RTP in the in-game help.

For example, Book of Dead has five versions: 96.21%, 94.25%, 91.25%, 87.25% and 84.18%.

Top slots

Book of Dead (2016)

A 5-reel, 10-line slot where the explorer Rich Wilde explores Egyptian ruins. When the 10 free spins begin, one “expanding symbol” is chosen at random, and whenever it lands during free spins it expands across the whole reel and pays regardless of paylines. Free spins can be retriggered without limit. Very high volatility, max win 5,000x.

Reactoonz (2017)

A 7×7 cluster pays slot featuring cute alien creatures. Five or more matching symbols touching each other win, and winning symbols disappear to keep the cascades going. When cascades fill all 4 slots of the “Quantum Leap” meter, Gigantoonz appears as a 3×3 giant wild, then splits into two 2×2 wilds and nine 1×1 wilds with each cascade. It also has Quantum features like Implosion, Demolition, Incision and Alteration. RTP is 96.51% (with 94.51% and 91.49% versions), volatility is 10/10, and the max win is 4,570x. Several sequels and spin-offs have followed.

Rise of Olympus

A cascading-win slot themed on Greek mythology, which Play’n GO showcases as a flagship title alongside Book of Dead and Reactoonz. It also led with these three games when entering the US. Follow-ups like “Rise of Olympus Extreme” came afterward.

Regulated-market-focused management

Play’n GO says it focuses on licensed markets and has withdrawn from unregulated ones. When it joined the German Online Casino Association (DOCV) in 2026, it pointed to the problem of illegal markets, saying “too much activity takes place outside the regulated market,” and estimated the real legal market share in Germany at 30-50%. In North America, it is expanding with Ontario and Michigan in 2022 and Alberta in 2026.
