Gold Digger Clusterbuster: A Mole Tunnels Across a 9×9 Grid to Rob the Vault
A summary of Red Tiger’s Gold Digger Clusterbuster. Mole burrows link winning paths on a 9×9 cluster grid and stack multipliers up to 100x, and breaking the central Clusterbuster triggers 10 free spins. RTP 96.11%, max win 10,000x.

Key takeaways
- On July 30, Red Tiger released Gold Digger Clusterbuster, a 9×9 cluster slot.
- When the same symbol lands in two mole burrows, everything between them turns into that symbol.
- Break all the outer tiles of the 3×3 Clusterbuster in the center of the grid in one spin for 10 free spins.
- In free spins, burrow multipliers last until the end of the round. The max win is 10,000x.
There is a golden statue inside a bank vault. The mole does not pick the lock. It digs. That is the setup of Gold Digger Clusterbuster, released by Red Tiger on July 30. The grid is a wide 9×9, with a locked 3×3 block of tiles set right in the middle. That block is the Clusterbuster.

Mole Burrows Create the Winning Path
Wins are made through cluster pays, and the mole burrows cut in on top of that. At any point during a spin, 2 or more burrows appear in random spots on the grid. When the same symbol lands in two or more burrows, a path forms between them, and every symbol on the cells the path crosses changes into that symbol. The entire path becomes one winning cluster.
Up to 5 burrows can appear in a single spin, and one more can appear during a cascade. Burrows disappear when the next spin starts. If a burrow appears but no matching symbol lands, the mole may show up itself. It changes one burrow’s symbol to match another’s, forcing a path to form. Red Tiger calls this the Mole Business.

Multipliers Collect Along the Path
Burrows can appear with a multiplier attached, and if that burrow is used for a path, the multiplier pays out. Multipliers also attach when a path passes over the same symbol already on the grid, or when the changed symbol matches the symbol that created the path. All multipliers collected in one spin are added together, then applied once to the total win after every cascade ends.
Once a winning cluster disappears, a cascade follows as new symbols drop from above, with no limit on the number of cascades. Multiplier values run closely from 2x to 8x, then jump to 10, 15, 20, 25, 50 and 100x. That makes 13 steps in all.
When the multiplier is applied matters. A multiplier attached mid-cascade is not used right away. It waits, and after the last cascade ends it is applied once to the whole win of that spin. The longer the cascade chain runs, the more both the win to be multiplied and the multipliers to be added grow.

Breaking the Clusterbuster Opens Free Spins
Each time a winning cluster forms right next to an outer tile of the Clusterbuster, that tile breaks. If you break all the outer tiles within the same spin, the Clusterbuster bursts and 10 free spins begin. Broken tiles return to normal when the next spin starts. You need to keep a long cascade chain going within a single spin to open the door.
When 3 or fewer unbroken tiles remain, a mole may also appear at random to finish the job. The 3×3 block has 8 outer tiles.

Multipliers Do Not Reset in Free Spins
In free spins, multipliers gained from the paths between burrows do not reset each spin and stay until the end of the round. A multiplier that lasts only one spin in the base game keeps stacking in the bonus. If you break the Clusterbuster again during the bonus, 5 more spins are added.
There are also Prize Diamonds, symbols that hold cash prizes from 0.5x to 25x your bet. On our game page, the values run through 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x, 2x, 2.5x, 3x, 4x and 5x up to 10x, with 15x and 25x above that. When a path passes over a diamond, the prize pays out first, before the symbol changes. If diamonds land in two or more burrows, a diamond path forms and all the diamond prizes along it are paid out.

There Are Four Buy Options
| Options | Details |
|---|---|
| Mole Trouble | At least 2 mole burrows guaranteed every spin |
| Molefestation | At least 3 mole burrows guaranteed every spin |
| Bonus Chase | The bottom 3 tiles of the Clusterbuster are always broken |
| Free Spins | Break the Clusterbuster and enter free spins even without adjacent wins |
Bonus Chase is the interesting one. Of the 8 outer tiles of the Clusterbuster, the bottom 3 always start broken, so only 5 tiles need to be broken in a spin. Add the mechanism where the mole breaks tiles for you when 3 or fewer remain, and the bonus door is much closer than in the base game. Mole Trouble and Molefestation increase the number of burrows, which raises the chances of a path forming in the first place.
The press release does not list prices for each option. On our game page, RTP is 96.11%, hit frequency is 32.37%, and the official volatility index is 33.76. Bets range from €0.1 to €500. The volatility index of Diamond Blitz 3, released two weeks earlier, was 4.02, so Red Tiger’s two new releases that month have completely opposite personalities.
This Is Not the First Game to Carry the Clusterbuster Name
For several years now, Red Tiger has been attaching the Clusterbuster name to its 9×9 cluster games. Four of them have demos on our site alone. All of them use a 9×9-type grid, and the bet cap was €50 on every one.
| Games | Release | RTP | Max win | Volatility Index |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Good Luck Clusterbuster | 2022.12 | 95.37% | 19,995x | 36.37 |
| Blobsters Clusterbuster | 2023.02 | 95.70% | 7,517x | 11.75 |
| Year-Round Riches Clusterbuster | 2023.10 | 95.75% | 20,482x | 11.75 |
| Egypt Clusterbuster | 2024.09 | 95.71% | 6,656x | 13.71 |
| Gold Digger Clusterbuster | 2026.07 | 96.11% | 10,000x | 33.76 |
Gold Digger has the highest RTP of these, and its bet cap of €500 is ten times higher than before for the first time. Of the previous four games, only Egypt Clusterbuster offered a bonus buy, but Gold Digger launches with four buy options. Its volatility index is the second highest after Good Luck.
In short
Burrows connect into paths, paths collect multipliers, and cascades break the Clusterbuster. All three steps have to line up within a single spin to open the bonus. Once you are in the bonus, burrow multipliers stack up until the end of the round. If you are new to it, start in the demo by watching how many burrows appear per spin and how many tiles the Clusterbuster loses in one spin.
