Deep in a misty jungle, jade lies sleeping in a ruined temple beneath a waterfall. Guarding this treasure is Aisha, the jungle queen in a feathered helmet. Released by Hacksaw Gaming on October 15, “The Jade Path Hold & Win” asks players who step into her domain to collect orbs.
3 orbs open 3 respins
The game runs on 9 paylines. When 3 orb symbols land at once, Jade Hold & Win starts. You get 3 respins. Every time a new orb or a Jaguar multiplier lands, the respins reset to 3. If 3 respins pass with nothing landing, the bonus ends.
There are three kinds of orbs. Coin orbs carry cash prizes, and jackpot orbs award one of the 5 jackpot tiers. The last is the Jaguar multiplier. When a Jaguar lands, the values of all coin orbs on the board at that moment are multiplied.
The later the Jaguar arrives, the better
The Jaguar multiplier applies to every coin orb on the board. So even the same Jaguar is worth far more when it lands with the board half full than when there are only two or three coin orbs. The longer the respins last, the more there is for the Jaguar to multiply.
This structure ties in with the Hold & Win series Hacksaw has released this year. Le Bandit Hold & Win, released in late August, and 3 Cursed Chests: Hold & Win from May also capped the max win at 2,500x and used a respin reset system. The Jade Path adds a Jaguar that multiplies the whole board.
You pick your own bonus
When 3 or more bonus symbols land at once, you can pick one of the two bonuses. Which one you choose changes the character of the bonus quite a bit.
| Bonus | Start | Key points |
|---|---|---|
| Warrior Riches | 10 free spins | Warrior wilds stick in place, and on every winning spin the Jaguar multiplier value is added to all wilds |
| Jade Bounty Hold & Win | 3 respins | It starts with the board already filled with orbs and Jaguar multipliers |
Warrior Riches is the side where wilds stack up during the free spins and the multiplier keeps growing. Jade Bounty follows the same rules as the base Hold & Win but with a higher starting line. You don’t need to collect orbs one by one on an empty board, since coins and Jaguars are already laid out from the start.
Four out of ten spins win
The base RTP is 96.19%, and depending on the operator there are 94.24%, 92.28% and 86.28% versions. Volatility is medium, level 3 on Hacksaw’s 5-point scale. With 9 paylines, the hit frequency is 39.6%, so about four out of ten spins land a win, even if it is a small one. The bet range is 0.10-800 and bonus buy is supported.
The 2,500x cap
The max win is 2,500x. That is on the low side for Hacksaw’s lineup. Compared with Arizona James and The Lost Relics (25,000x), the cap is one tenth. The September new release trend is collected in the Hacksaw Gaming September roundup. In exchange, it opts for a flow that rarely breaks, thanks to hit frequency and respin refills.
