Overview
Spribe is a provider founded in late 2018 by David Natroshvili and others in Tbilisi, Georgia. Its Aviator, released in February 2019, became a huge worldwide success, and the company is credited with popularizing the “crash game” genre. It also has bases in Warsaw, Kyiv, and Tallinn.
Spribe specializes not in slots with spinning reels but in short games (“turbo games”) where a round ends in a few seconds to a few dozen seconds.
What is a crash game
On the Aviator screen, a small plane takes off and the multiplier keeps climbing from 1.00x. At some random moment the plane flies away (the crash), and if you press “Cash out” before that, you receive the multiplier at that moment. If the plane flies away before you cash out, you lose your bet.
| Element | Details |
|---|---|
| Multiplier | Starts at 1.00x and climbs, stopping at a random point |
| Cash out | You can press it manually or set it in advance, such as “auto cash-out at 2x” |
| Two bets | You can place two separate bets in one round (for example, cashing out one early and one late) |
| Multiplayer | Many people watch the same round at the same time, and other players’ cash-outs show in real time |
| RTP | 97% (house edge 3%) |
No matter which multiplier you cash out at, the long-term expected value is the same. Cashing out often at low multipliers means winning often but in small amounts, while aiming for high multipliers means winning big but rarely. In other words, the cash-out point is a choice of volatility, not of win probability. Thinking “it crashed low several rounds in a row, so this time it will go high” is the gambler’s fallacy. Each round’s outcome is independent.
Provably Fair
All Spribe games use a provably fair system. In Aviator, the server seed is hashed and published before the round starts, a SHA-512 hash is created by combining the seeds of the first three players to bet in that round, and the crash multiplier is calculated from this value. Once the round ends, the original server seed is revealed, so players can calculate it themselves and confirm the result matches the predetermined value.
This method only proves that “the result was not manipulated mid-round,” not that it favors the player. The 3% house edge remains.
Other games
These include Mines (minesweeper-style), Dice, Hi-Lo, Keno, Mini Roulette, Plinko, Goal, Balloon (2024), and Trader (2025). Most have an RTP around 97%, and some games are set higher.
License and cautions
It holds licenses or certifications in more than 20 jurisdictions, including Malta’s MGA, the UK’s UKGC, Sweden, Romania, and Ontario. Its UK license was suspended from October 2025 to April 2026 and then restored.
Aviator is so popular that there are many scams, such as fake apps that imitate its name and “prediction programs” for sale. Since results are determined by cryptographic hashes, a prediction program cannot work. Rounds also run very fast, which makes it easy to place many bets in a short time, so it’s best to set time and amount limits first (bankroll and responsible gambling terms).
Crash game expected value example
Say you bet 10,000 won on Aviator at 97% RTP and always cash out at 2x. The chance of reaching 2x is about 48.5%. The expected value is then 0.485 × 20,000 won = 9,700 won, so you lose an average of 300 won (3%) per round. If you aim for 10x, the chance of getting there drops to about 9.7%, but the expected value is still exactly 9,700 won.
| Cash-out multiplier | Chance of reaching (approx.) | Expected value of 10,000 won |
|---|---|---|
| 1.5x | 64.7% | 9,700 won |
| 2x | 48.5% | 9,700 won |
| 5x | 19.4% | 9,700 won |
| 10x | 9.7% | 9,700 won |
| 100x | 0.97% | 9,700 won |
The probabilities above were calculated with the general crash game formula “target multiplier × probability of reaching it = 0.97.” No strategy changes the expected value; the only thing that changes is how much results swing.
Why crash games are popular
- The rules are simple. You only have to decide when to stop.
- You can see other players’ bets and cash-outs, which gives a shared feel.
- It gives you the feeling of deciding for yourself. But the outcome is already set before the round starts.
