Tower Run Treasure Steps: Aspiring Knight Bob Climbs to the Top of the Treasure Tower
SUMMARY

Key takeaways

  • Play’n GO released the fantasy grid slot Tower Run Treasure Steps on October 15.
  • On the 5×5 grid, 6 or more monsters or 7 or more royals make a win, and cascades keep the chain going.
  • The number of wins in one spin fills the Win-O-Meter, opening a wild at step 3, a multiplier at step 6, and the Treasure Room at step 9.
  • The mimic chests in the Treasure Room hide prizes from 10x to 5,000x. Max win 5,000x.

A lantern-lit corridor stretches upward endlessly, and a giant eyeball floats in the air. Monsters live all along the passage, and portals the designer never approved are punched into the walls. The hero climbing this tower is Bob. A glowing sword and a friendly smile are all he has, but his dream of becoming a knight is big.

The official introduction to Tower Run Treasure Steps, which Play’n GO released on October 15, describes Bob’s survival instinct as “on par with a soggy croissant.” At the top of the tower lies the legendary Treasure Room. A sensible hero would have turned back, but Bob is simply delighted to be here.

A 5×5 grid that matches by count, not by line

According to the official description, there is no room for paylines in the tower. A win happens when 6 or more of the same monster symbol, or 7 or more of the same royal symbol, land anywhere on the 5×5 grid. It uses a cascade system in which winning symbols disappear and new symbols fall into the empty spaces, so the chain continues as long as new wins occur. Wilds substitute for regular symbols.

This chain is the engine of the game. How many wins link together in one spin decides what opens next. Like Play’n GO’s own Reactoonz 100, it is a structure where features are added the longer you stretch the chain.

Each win is one notch on the Win-O-Meter

The Win-O-Meter works only within a single spin. Each time a win occurs, one notch of charge builds up, and when the next spin starts, it builds up again from scratch. There are three stages.

ChargeFeaturesDetails
Square 3Wild RiftAfter wins are cleared, 1-4 wilds appear in the empty spaces
Square 6Dimensional MultiplierAlong with 1-4 wilds, an x2-x5 multiplier is applied to the entire next chain. If you skip square 3 and arrive directly, you get 2-8 wilds
9 cellsTreasure RoomWhen the final chain ends, the Hold & Spin bonus begins

The rule is fun: if you reach square 6 directly without passing through square 3, the wilds grow to 2-8. A single big chain is designed to be better than several small chains.

Mimics in the Treasure Room open only when the countdown ends

The Treasure Room starts with 3 lives on an empty 5×5 Hold & Spin grid. Coins carry a prize of 1-5x the base bet and lock in place. Mimic chests also lock, but they land closed. Each chest carries a countdown of 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12, which drops by 1 at the start of each respin and opens at 0. Inside is a prize between 10x and 5,000x.

A key opens one closed mimic right away. Keys do not stick, so they disappear even when there are no chests to open. When a coin, mimic, or key lands, or when a mimic opens, lives refill to 3. The bonus ends when lives run out or when all 25 squares are filled with locked symbols.

Bob stands on a different floor for each bet

Above the reels there is a separate path for Bob to climb. Each spin, Bob advances 1-6 squares, and every 18 squares he meets a monster that gives an instant prize between 0.2x and 10x the base bet. This prize is paid before symbol calculations.

Bob’s position is saved separately for each bet level. When you change your bet, the point where you were climbing at that bet is loaded, and even if you come back later, Bob starts again from where he stopped. Because progress carries over across sessions, it is a mechanic closer to a collection game than a typical slot.

Meeting a monster every 18 squares means that, at an average of 3.5 squares per spin, an instant prize comes roughly once every five spins. The prize is one of 0.2x, 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, or 10x. It is not a big amount, but it makes something happen even on spins with no win.

Turn on GO ULTRA and base game wins are doubled

With GO ULTRA mode on, an x2 multiplier is permanently applied to base game wins. When a Dimensional Multiplier triggers, it locks to x5 for the duration of that chain, then returns to x2. The Treasure Room starts with 4 lives, and all 4 are refilled every time it resets. However, the x2 does not apply to Bob’s climbing prizes. The max win is 5,000x, and the RTP and bet range have not yet been published on the official page.
