Overview
Blueprint Gaming is a slot developer launched in 2001 in Newark, Nottinghamshire, England. It was acquired in 2008 by Gauselmann Group, a German gaming machine and casino company, and is now part of the Merkur group. It has more than 200 games.
Blueprint is especially strong in the UK market, and its signature series “Fishin’ Frenzy” is at the center of that. It holds UK UKGC, Malta MGA, Gibraltar, and Alderney licenses.
History
Fishin’ Frenzy Series
Blueprint’s signature fishing-themed series, with more than 10 variations. The core feature is that during free spins, fisherman symbols collect the cash values shown on the fish symbols on screen. “Fishin’ Frenzy Lily’s Big Catch Jackpot King,” released in August 2026, includes up to 20 free spins, expanding reels where a golden fisherman adds reels, and a feature that collects fish symbols in a net above the screen, with a “Power Play” option that boosts the features for 5x the base bet. Blueprint says the previous title, “Fishin’ Frenzy Lure ‘Em In,” had a record-breaking launch.
Jackpot King
Jackpot King is a progressive jackpot system run directly by Blueprint. It pools multiple games from multiple operators into one jackpot pool and pays out jackpots in 3 tiers. Popular games like Fishin’ Frenzy and Deal or No Deal also come in separate “Jackpot King” versions. Blueprint describes it as “one of the industry’s best-known and biggest-paying progressive jackpot systems.”
Megaways
Blueprint is one of the early providers to receive a Megaways license from Big Time Gaming. It has released many of its own popular titles and branded games as Megaways, such as Fishin’ Frenzy Megaways, Eye of Horus Megaways, Ted Megaways, Napoleon Megaways, and Majestic Fury Megaways.
Branded slots
Branded slots built on movie and TV licenses are another Blueprint strength. Ted from the film “Ted”, the animated series “Rick and Morty” (Rick and Morty Megaways, Rick and Morty: Strike Back), the films “The Goonies” and “Lost Boys”, and the TV quiz show “Deal or No Deal” slots are the best-known examples.
RTP and volatility
The RTP of Blueprint games generally falls in the 94-96% range. Many games have high volatility, aimed at players chasing bonus features.
Flagship title comparison
| Games | RTP | Max win | Volatility |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fishin’ Frenzy Megaways | 95.02% | 50,000x | High |
| Ted Megaways | 95.80% | 25,000x | High |
| Eye of Horus Megaways | 95.02% | 10,000x | High |
| The Goonies | 96.0% | 5,000x | Medium-High |
Blueprint games have an RTP of around 95%, slightly lower than other providers where 96% or higher is common. This is because the lower of the several RTP versions used by UK operators is often the default. In return, the max win on Megaways versions is set quite high.
Why Fishin’ Frenzy Is Loved in the UK
Fishin’ Frenzy brings the feel of the fruit machines found in UK pubs and arcades straight to online play. The structure is simple: a fisherman symbol “catches” the cash values on the fish across the reels, so even first-time players can pick it up quickly. That simple structure grew into more than 10 variations, including Megaways, Jackpot King and Christmas editions, making it one of the best-known slot series in the UK. Many providers later copied the “fisherman collects fish values” mechanic (Money Collection).
Relationship with Gauselmann Group
Blueprint’s parent company, Gauselmann Group, is a major German land-based gaming company known for its “Merkur” brand slot machines and gaming halls. After acquiring Blueprint in 2008, it provided land-based slot know-how and a European distribution network. As a result, while Blueprint focuses on the UK market, it has found it easier to enter European markets such as Germany and Austria.
Branded license strategy
Blueprint has many branded slots that use film, TV, and game IP. It holds more than 15 licenses, including Ted, Rick and Morty, The Goonies, Deal or No Deal (5+ versions), Top Cat, Worms, and Casper. Familiar characters make it easy for first-time players to take an interest.
