Overview
The Vikings Series is a slot series that Yggdrasil started in 2015 with Vikings Go Wild. Titles follow the “Vikings Go ~” pattern, and each game sends four Viking warriors on a new expedition: sea monsters, the demons of hell, Egypt, Olympus, Las Vegas, and Hollywood. It is one of Yggdrasil’s longest-running series, and in 2024 Vikings Go To Egypt Wild Fight was presented as the official sixth entry.
The shared Rage meter mechanic
What ties the series together is the Rage meter that builds up separately for each Viking. The mechanic first took hold in Vikings Go Berzerk in 2016. Each time a Viking symbol wins, that Viking’s meter fills. When a meter is full, that Viking enters “Berzerk mode” and becomes a sticky wild, and the “Ragnarok Free Spins,” where all the Vikings fight together, serve as the top bonus. Treasure chests that award prizes or free spins are another element carried over from the earliest games.
From 2024, this structure got the name Wild Fight. Yggdrasil promotes it as its own mechanic brand (GEM): when the Rage meter fills, free spins are guaranteed, and during free spins the Vikings fight an enemy boss on every spin, with the winning Viking becoming a sticky wild for the rest of the bonus. The enemy in the Egypt game was Cleopatra, and 3, 4, or 5 scatters award 7, 14, or 21 free spins.
