Overview
Quickspin is a studio founded in Stockholm, Sweden in 2011 by three friends who set out to “make the kind of high-quality slots we want to play ourselves.” Besides its Stockholm headquarters, it has offices in Sliema, Malta and Kyiv, Ukraine, with about 100 people from more than 30 countries.
Quickspin puts “high quality, craftsmanship, and obsession with detail” forward as its company principles. It puts effort into detailed graphics and presentation, and its release pace is fairly measured at about 15-20 titles a year. It was acquired by Playtech in 2016, but it still makes its games independently in Stockholm.
Acquired by Playtech
In May 2016, Playtech acquired Quickspin for a total of 50 million euros. Playtech did not absorb Quickspin but kept it as an independent brand, and Quickspin has grown with its own platform and new product lines.

Gamification tools
Quickspin built tools that add game-like fun to slots early on. The “Achievement Engine” puts achievements and missions inside the game so players enjoy working toward goals, and “Live Tournaments” lets operators run real-time tournaments. A distinguishing feature is that these elements are built into the game itself, so operators don’t need to create separate campaigns.
Top slots

| Big Bad Wolf | About 96.00% | A three little pigs fairy-tale theme, wilds swap in when the “Moon Meter” fills, a Megaways version also exists |
| Sakura Fortune | About 96.34% | High volatility, sticky wilds build up during free spins. The series that symbolizes Quickspin |
| Razortooth | About 96.70% | High RTP among Quickspin games |
| Cash Truck · Sticky Bandits · Golden Glyph series | – | A recently released high-volatility series |
Founding background
The people who founded Quickspin were industry veterans from NetEnt and the major operator Unibet. Having felt the limits of “mass-produced slots” while working at big companies, they set up the company in Stockholm in 2011 with the goal of making fewer slots with outstanding graphics and presentation. The fairy-tale art style and detailed animation of Quickspin games come from this start.

Compared with other Swedish studios
Sweden is home to many developers besides Quickspin, such as NetEnt, Thunderkick, ELK Studios, and Nolimit City. If NetEnt is known for popular classic slots and Nolimit City for extreme high volatility, Quickspin stands out with fairy-tale graphics and gamification (achievements and tournaments). It also operates as an independent brand within the Playtech group.
