Overview

Yggdrasil Masters (YG Masters) is a partner program for independent studios run by the Swedish provider Yggdrasil. Small studios build games with Yggdrasil’s development tools, and Yggdrasil distributes them worldwide under its name and operator network. It was first called “YG Masters” and has been called “YGG Masters” since around 2024.

That means many of the games released under the Yggdrasil name were actually made by partner studios. AI Slot labels these games “Studio Name × Yggdrasil”, and more than 400 of the 572 games on the Yggdrasil provider page use this label.

What partners get

  • GATI: Short for “Game Adaptation Tools & Interface,” a standard set of development tools preconfigured for each country’s regulations. Once a game is built, it’s easier to release it in multiple markets.
  • Distribution network: Games are supplied directly to the operators that work with Yggdrasil. For some studios, Yggdrasil becomes the exclusive distributor.
  • Regulatory support: Yggdrasil handles licensing, infrastructure, certification, and marketing together with the partner.
  • Mechanics access: Partner games can also use Yggdrasil’s proprietary game mechanics (GEMs), such as Gigablox.

More recently, Game in a Box, which shortens the development process even further, and the Phoenix platform have also been offered to new partners.
